What to do immediately after an accident
Four things to do before you leave the scene. Your insurer will ask about all of them.
Make it safe
Stop, hazards on, and get everyone out of traffic. Call 999 if anyone is hurt or the road is blocked.
Swap details
Names, addresses, phone numbers, registrations and insurers of every driver involved. You must stop and give your details by law.
Record evidence
Photos of the road and all damage. Note the time, place and weather, and get any witnesses' names and numbers.
Don't admit fault
Stick to the facts. Fault is decided later by the insurers, based on the evidence.

Can I get help after a non-fault accident?
Yes. If another driver was at fault, our independent team can arrange recovery, repairs and a replacement vehicle, subject to eligibility. Call 0333 344 7762.
What information will I need to report an accident?
Your policy number and registration, the date, time and place, what happened, the other driver's name, address, registration and insurer, photos, and any witness details.
Can I arrange a replacement vehicle?

The other driver's insurer should cover your losses. We can help you get your car repaired and keep you mobile while the claim is made against the driver at fault.
Will I lose my No Claims Bonus?
If the accident is shown not to be your fault and the other side pays, your No Claims Bonus is usually unaffected. If you were at fault, it may be affected unless you have No Claims Bonus protection.
Can I choose my own repairer?
